HOLI!

Ok, so I know its been well over a month since I last posted something. And well its has been well over a month since Josh and I have done anything remotely exciting. One of the reasons is because Josh (yes he is awesome) got a job with BYU broadcasting being an audio technician! So he pretty much goes to all these different sporting events and does stuff there (I have no idea really what he does, well at least not well enough to explain!). Its fun to watch lots of sports but it definitely takes away from our adventure time :) Oh well.

Anyways, this past weekend was a day where a local Hindu temple, celebrated the Hindu holiday, Holi. Holi is a spring holiday, well more like a festival, where on one of the days people just have tons of fun and throw colored powder at each other. Here in good ol' Utah at the temple we went to, it was called festival of colors. I would explain more of what it is, but seeing as you have internet, I will just let you look it up :)

I loved throwing colors at people! However, it wasn't Josh's favorite, but being the loving husband he is, he  got into the spirit of the festival, and threw colors at me :) So just so you can see what kind of craziness it is, here are some of our pictures.

Just Stuff

Well, unlike most people, I am terrible at blogging. Or perhaps I am like most people and most people are terrible at it? Anyways, I'm sorry that I haven't posted anything for a while. It seems as if Josh and I went through a boring spell, where we just didn't do anything that was really blog worthy.

So things that have happened, my grandpa died at the beginning of this month so I went home to Washington for the funeral while Josh stayed here in Utah, marking our first time apart since being married. Josh had his twenty-third birthday (yeah he's getting old!). We celebrated our first valentines together. We've made our own version of poutine. And we went snowshoeing for our first time! At night under the full moon!

I find that I am much better at taking pictures of things that have happened rather than writing about them :)
So here are pictures of the different things we have been doing.

Josh's awesome birthday banner I made for him :)

So this was just a super cute picture of Josh I wanted to share...

And us on Valentines day

This is the start of our making poutine. Well kinda the start, we already had made the fries at this point...

Our deliciously golden fries, cooked in the deep fryer Josh got for his birthday

Cheddar cheese curds, usually you use white, but we couldn't find any...

The pouring of the gravy...

Ta da! Poutine! You might think it is disgusting, the combination of fries, cheese curds and gravy, but I like it. A lot. So the next time you are in Canada, look for some poutine. The best is from New York fries.

Oh and these are just a couple of flower pots I decided to paint :)

Oh and here is a picture that I forgot for a little bit, from our snowshoeing!

Christmas in Canada

Well. its been quite some time since I last posted and it seems like a lot has happened since then!

So for our Christmas break, we found ourselves in perhaps one of the coldest places on earth... Ok I'm exaggerating a little bit. But it was pretty darn cold. We spent our two weeks at Josh's parents house in Millarville Canada, which is about an hour southwest of Calgary (Or so I'm told). We spent our first week, well almost first week, in Banff at this really sweet looking castle hotel place. While there we looked at shops in the little town, Josh and I watched the lunar eclipse at 1:00 am, and we sat in the outdoor hot tub with our bodies warm and our hair turning into icicles. One of my favorite parts was probably the hot tub :)

Another adventure we were able to partake in, was riding the gondola up to the top of the mountain! There was an amazing view at the top and the somewhat scary ride up to the top was very much worth it.

Our last adventure for the year happened to be one of my favorites. Cross country skiing! I had never done it before so Josh, Ryan (Arians husband) and I decided that we would like to go. It was a really good workout like everyone says and I would like to get much better at it.

Here are some of the pictures.
